2006 Ulverstone Ulysses AGM Ride - Day 7

Thursday, 09 March 2006: AGM On-site Day

This was a planned rest day to be spent at the AGM site catching up with the rest of the AWRA crew camped in the grounds, then looking around Ulverstone. So much for a rest day. Larry wasn’t feeling too well early but with the washing done we headed for the AGM site and by smoko we had Larry on his way to hospital.

Shades of Canberra and Lionel all over again. After finding Eric, also sick, and Deb, Phil and Vicky and Rusty and Maree and receiving and giving all the news, we completed our look around and utilised Clint and Charleen to get Larry’s bike back to the camp ground. We started to make arrangements to get Larry and Annette back from the hospital and of course, bloody mobile phones, they never have enough battery power when you need them so we had a bit of trouble contacting Annette during the day.

After coffee at Clint and Charleen’s abode in the caravan park we had still not been able to contact Annette but the hospital confirmed Larry had been discharged. Nothing to do but wait, so, back to camp, they weren't in their tent so we headed for the clubhouse for a beer. Larry and Annette were already there waiting for company. Larry told us three of the four people looking after him were Queenslanders.
