Decision time. Do we do the west coast or take more time to have a better look down through the centre and around Hobart or do we take a chance on the potential bad weather developing down the west coast. Hobart wins so we pack up, say goodbye to tent city and head south.
The weather is still great, as it has been except for the north-west coast on the first day. South to Perth where we see tree stump sculptures in an impressive tribute to the railway workers. Then on to Ross which would have to be one of the more fascinating places we saw.
Ross has more convict buildings within a few blocks than anywhere, most still in use in very good condition. That’s not to mention a bridge built by the convicts and still in every day traffic use. We spent a lot of time here wandering through the town inspecting buildings the having lunch in the historic hotel. Somewhere in those wanderings I lost a good pair of Bole sunglasses. Unable to locate them when I retraced my steps. Had to buy a cheap pair to see me home.
On to Hobart and we check into a motel and make arrangements for Monday.
