Another beautiful day for riding, cool, but we will warm up. 14 degrees is OK isn’t it? Just a short run this morning into Ballarat and we will spend the afternoon looking at Sovereign Hill. The caravan park is just below Sovereign Hill so we are setup by 12 oclock and spend the rest of the afternoon walking. While Sovereign Hill is certainly an impressive setup and quite true to history, once I had spent a couple of hours looking at old buildings etc, they all started to look the same. The head cold I have is no better and combined with a headache, walking in the dust does not help. After Sovereign Hill we visit the Gold Museum for a bit more history then it’s back to the tent for a couple of beers. That soon washes out the dust.
Part of our history tour during the afternoon highlighted the local St Patrick’s Cathedral so being Saturday evening we paid it a visit and found a nice little Italian Restaurant for a pizza dinner. Back to the tent and the weather is starting to look ominous and just could match the forecast for rain. That we don’t need and it’s no fun packing a wet tent.
