Awake early as someone in the caravan park had an alarm set for 5:30am. Didn’t help with getting started any earlier. The plan for today is to get ahead of the planned itinerary and meet up with Frans early tomorrow morning. The day starts surprisingly warm compared to the temperature when we went to bed. The first sounds I hear, apart from the alarm are more bikes heading south.
We hit the road north to a constant stream of bikes heading south. Plenty of police cars, both mobile and cameras on the road today. A refuel at Cann River then on to Eden and have a bit of a look around before heading for Bega for a visit to the Cheese Factory and some lunch before continuing on to Ulladulla.
We arrive in Burrell, just short of Ulladulla and decide to make it our overnight stop. We pitch the tent, have a beer and a look around then make a coffee and plan tomorrow. Turn on the GPS and it doesn’t work. Bugger. I’ve started to rely on it for planning as much as knowing where to go. After many attempts to get it working I give up and we start to settle in. I ring Frans and plan tomorrow telling him that I will need to ring him when I get to Nowra as the GPS has died. Plans made, a couple of seconds later he phones back and asks “ What sort of GPS?"; "TomTom"; "Try resetting”. Apparently he had a similar problem with his. I try it and it works, Frans address is punched in and we are right to go. Needs to be an early start though as I need to be in Nowra by 8:45 and the GPS says 1hr 13 minutes. A 7:30 start. Hasn’t been done to date! We will see how we go.
