Race Day; Up, cook and eat breakfast and off to the circuit for the first race of the day. Didn't need to be early after all, an accident on the second lap resulted in the race being cancelled. A bigger crowd coming in today made it more interesting and certainly gave a larger selection of bikes to look at. Recent and current models don't interest me as much as the older bikes that owners have gone to the trouble of maintaining in good condition or restoring. As a result, quite a few of the photos are of bikes that are around 40 years old.
The day consisted of sitting in the Aussie Superbike Club area enjoying the hospitality and watching the racing out of the sun, wandering around the circuit looking at the spectator's bikes and the racing from different vantage points, further exploration of the trade exhibitions and walking the pits of the superbike race teams. It was a good day of racing with almost all races having very close racing for the podium positions. A few accidents occurred and while spectacular, most did not appear to result in any serious injury.
After the racing, I went for a ride to some different sections of the island just to have a look around.
35 klms to and from the track and down to the bottom of the island today.
